Free Radicals attack the human body and cause Oxidative stress when their level become in excess of the normal.  Control of Free Radicals depends upon  Antioxidant defense system which includes “PREVENTIVE ANTIOXIDANTS” (like Glutathione, Glutathione Peroxidase, Superoxide,  Dismutase, Catalase & Minerals) and “SCAVENGING ANTIOXIDANTS” (like Glutathione, Vitamins, Carotenoids & Flavanoids).

In other words, management of free radicals through Vitamins (A.C.E) and Minerals (Selenium etc., ) ALONE IS NOT SUFFICIENT.  The reason is Free Radicals attack at different sites, at different times and by different mechanism.  Therefore both at intracellular & extracellular levels as well as at hydrophilic sites free radical excess and their ravages are to be controlled.
